I really enjoyed this story of Hayley, her daughter Angel and their trip to New York City to have a holiday and look for Angel’s father. From the outset, you could really understand the characters, each with their quirks, and their underlying motivations. The search for Angel’s father leads to more complex undertones than usually found in feel-good Christmas stories – which makes for an all-round stronger story.
Each of the characters has more depth than expected and the threads of the story are nicely woven together. Granted, there are a couple of “coincidences” that are too-good-to-be-true but if you like feel-good takes, this won’t be a problem!!
A lovely story that is well worth a read, particularly if you are after a feel-good or Christmassy tale…
